Sink Into Winter: Candlelit Yin Yoga with Poetry

With the days getting shorter and the nights getting colder, what better way to rest and rejuvenate than with some cosy Yin Yoga by candlelight, with poetry to ease you through, in the beautiful Dublin Wellness Centre.
Yin Yoga is a slow-paced style of yoga that targets the deeper connective tissues of the body. We approach yoga poses from a softer, more passive place, and spend longer in each pose (anywhere from 3-10 minutes, depending).
It’s all about opening up your body and allowing your muscles relax, as opposed to trying to get them to go anywhere or do anything!
During some of the poses, I’ll read out poems around the themes of winter, rest, nature and awareness. Only around 6 poems will be read during the workshop, to also allow plenty of time for silence and nothingness.
We will open up the hips, release the psoas, unwind the spine, detangle the shoulders and throw our phones out the window. Just kidding – but we will be away from our phones for around 90 minutes, which is just delicious in itself 😉
You do not need to have done any yoga before to attend this workshop.
Class size will be kept to 12 maximum for this workshop, to make sure we all have plenty of space!

Stretch & Sooth: Yoga with live acoustic guitar

Escape the silly season and take some time out for a soothing yoga flow accompanied by beautiful live acoustic guitar. Begin your Saturday with an hour of body and sound nourishment!
This class will run like this:
-10 mins of opening savasana & warm-up-into-your-body-stretches, including breathing techniques to relax and re-connect with your body
-20 mins of vinyasa flow (variations offered to suit your body) to stretch out, get circulation going, release stagnation, and enhance strength
-20 mins of yin yoga poses (relaxed, passive poses held for 3-8 mins at a time to release tension from joints and deeper connective tissue)
-10 mins of closing savasana to let your body soak in all the good stuff it’s just done.
