Dynamic Yoga Flow at the Dublin Wellness Centre, Monday evenings 5.40pm-6.40pm

Start your week as you mean to go on – cultivating focus, strength and mindfulness. Through asana, pranayama and meditation we will strengthen the muscles and joints, release tension and stagnation, and ground the body and mind.

Each week we will do a well-rounded physical practice – including sun salutations, hamstring-openers, hip-openers, twists, core, balance and backbends – but each week we have a different main focus. We will finish each class with pranayama and meditation.

This is a donation-based class – pay what you feel/what you can afford. No one will be turned away for lack of funds. Suggested donation is €10. Donations can be made via paypal or cash on the day. Please get in touch if you have any questions or would like to book your spot: 0861651992 / miriam@lightyourownlamp.com

Yin Yoga at the Dublin Wellness Centre, Thursday evenings 8pm-9pm

Yin Yoga is a slow-paced style of yoga that targets the deeper connective tissues of the body. We approach yoga poses from a softer, more passive place, and spend longer in each pose (anywhere from 3-10 minutes, depending on the pose). It’s all about opening up your body and allowing your muscles relax, as opposed to trying to get them to go anywhere or do anything. In each class we’ll gently open up the hips and hamstrings, unwind the spine, and detangle the shoulders.

To find out more about Yin Yoga, read Miriam’s blog on it here: https://lightyourownlamp.com/2017/08/15/yin-yoga-moving-within/

I have taught yoga to adults, teenagers and children, and once inadvertently to a gang of monkeys (they didn’t stay long though). I am available for group or private classes. To arrange a class, or for any questions, contact me on miriam@lightyourownlamp.com or 0861651992.

“Miriam’s classes are some of the best I’ve been to. She creates a wonderful energy in the room. Puts you in a relaxed and meditative mood for the rest of the day and after.” – Cormac.

My favourite hour and a half of the week … the movements are manageable while also being challenging and Miriam is welcoming, genuine and helpful. I feel blissfully unburdened of the worries of modern life at class, and that feeling is starting to stay with me in the hours and days afterwards.” – Maeve.
